The Essence of Being a Nature and Wildlife Photographer.

Hi, I’m Sarah. A Nature Wildlife Photographer..

Being a photographer of butterflies, dragonflies, and insects has profoundly deepened my appreciation for nature. I live in the picturesque rural area of Bedfordshire. My journey began during the COVID lockdown when I explored local meadows and woodlands. This was when I first discovered the enchanting world of insects. The serene spaces became my playground. Butterflies danced among wildflowers, while dragonflies glided over still waters. This experience sparked a passion for wildlife photography I hadn’t fully realised I had. Each outing turned into an adventure, immersing me in the beauty around me.

As my love for capturing these delicate creatures grew, I ventured beyond Bedfordshire. I explored various nature reserves across the country. Each location offered a unique variety of insect species and habitats. One of my favourite spots, Norfolk, became a treasure hunt for the stunning Swallowtail butterfly. Known for its vibrant colours and graceful flight, this butterfly is a joy to photograph. The diverse plants and animals I encountered provided numerous opportunities to capture intricate details.

The colourful patterns of butterflies and the striking markings of dragonflies inspire my creativity. Through my lens, I aim to raise awareness about conserving these often-overlooked creatures. Each wildlife photograph tells a story, highlighting the diversity and fragility of insect life. By sharing my work, I can encourage others to appreciate and protect delicate ecosystems that often remain hidden.

As a proud member of Butterfly Conservation and The Wildlife Trust, I also connect with others who share a passion for wildlife. This journey has deepened my understanding of the natural world and inspired me to commit to its protection. I look forward to capturing more moments that celebrate the incredible beauty of insects, hoping to inspire others along the way.
